Brunel University / Wilfred Brown Building

This scheme transforms the 4,710m² Wilfred Brown Building and creates a new gateway to the university. The PC (ARJ), stripped the building back to its concrete frame and JPJ re-clad it with a ‘saw tooth’ façade. On the first and second floors, the north-west elevation features clear glazing, while the west and south-west elevations use interstitial architectural mesh to provide solar shading. We added a perforated profiled metal screen to the third floor, echoing the structure of the façade below and unifying the front elevation of the building.
